Abstract: This paper is a review of Mira Marcinów’s book on history of melancholy in Poland. It is written from a perspective of bioethicist and philosopher of medicine interested in psychiatry and endeavours both presentation of the project for an English speaking reader and critical evaluation of this exceptional book with focus on value for different potential readers.
